Okay, I bought this little cabinet at a local store and it was painted a muted rose pink and the inside was bright white. You can see some of the pink on here.
It was cute but it was going to change. I need something to store some of my scottie dog items in so I opted for a red, specifically Country Red by DecoArt Americana paints.
I like the red a lot but I kept feeling like I wanted to do something else with/to it.Then I remembered I got in a bunch of StencilGirl stencils just last night and these are by Andrew Borloz. So I tried them out in a journal to take a look at them.
Wow, this is going to be harder than I thought. So, I stenciled some of them in white on a transparency
This way, I can "audition" them on the piece without having to commit to a color and design and then change my mind and have to paint over them. Don't have that kind of time. While I love the white, I did change the inside to Oyster Beige because it was so stark. So, perhaps not. And my scottie, Fergus, is black after all. Let's give black a try.
Hmmm. Okay, I think the black is going to be a go. I think maybe I know which one I will like and will likely start on the back. Who knows? I may use one on the back, a different one on the sides and a different one still on the front. Maybe, maybe not. Stay tuned. I have an idea for the arch at the top specifically the inset part. It won't be done today...
I love this!! Fantastic job!

Brilliant use of the transparencies. I look forward to seeing the finished products.
